Upcoming Pre-Conference (and Conference) Info

- just in case you have not yet seen this memo - Nancy Alcorn

Greetings--

The RUSA RSS Library Service to an Aging Population Committee is planning a whole day pre-conference for the American Library Association's Annual Conference, June 21-27, 2007, to be held in Washington, DC on the topic of "Libraries, Older Adults and Technology."

The pre-conference will focus on but is not limited to the following topics:

--Training Older Adults to Use Technology
--Using Technology in Outreach Settings
--Designing Web Pages for Older Adults
--Assistive Technology/Devices
--Sharing Training Models, like, Seniornet, Web Wise Seniors and Generations Online
--Boomers and Technology: What Will They Want?
--Intergenerational Technology Projects or Learning.

We will be making the proposal for this pre-conference to the RSS Board and the RUSA Program Committee next week in San Antonio. The reason for this e-mail is that the Committee is still looking for some additional speakers that may have been overlooked in the planning.

If you yourself are interested in making a presentation or would like to suggest someone
as a speaker, please feel free to send that information to me as soon as possible via e-mail to:
Kleiman@aol.com.

Thanks for the help in planning this exciting event and sorry for any cross postings.
